How to get contraception (birth control)

If you don’t have a current prescription or method: you have options!

If you need Emergency Contraception (EC): an affordable option for “Plan B” is available at Afterpill.com. Ella requires a prescription. Almost all insurance plans will cover the cost of any EC with a prescription. Remember, you can purchase emergency contraception in advance and reduce the need for stress later. For questions about birth control, visit Bedsider. A Paragard (copper) IUD or a Mirena/Liletta (52 mg LNG) IUD inserted up to 5 days after unprotected sex can also be used as emergency contraception.
